Honda Racing Development have purchased a Tourtalk TT 100 system to provide simultaneous interpretation during staff meetings.
The system was supplied with two Tourtalk TT 100-T transmitters so two interpreters can work together each using a transmitter set on the same channel and muting one at a time. Alternatively, the two transmitters can be set on different channels to provide simultaneous interpretation into two separate languages.
The system can also be used as a tour guide system with simultaneous interpretation. A tour guide can use one transmitter (for example on channel 1) and an interpreter can use the other transmitter (for example on channel 2). The interpreter and tour group can each be issued with a wireless receiver. The interpreter can listen to the tour guide (by selecting channel 1) on their receiver and then interpret the message (on to channel 2) using their transmitter. The tour group can choose to listen to either the tour guide or the interpreter by selecting the appropriate channel on their receiver and then adjust their personal volume to a comfortable level.
Honda Racing Development currently provides engines and Energy Recovery Systems for the Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso teams, competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
