Another Fire and Rescue Service have purchased a Tourtalk Command Training system. This system will be used to assist observers in hearing new crew during training drills.

The new crew are issued with a wireless Tourtalk transmitter and microphone. They are then instructed to describe the actions they are making whilst conducting their assigned task.

The observers are issued with a lightweight receiver and single earphone to hear the trainee’s voice as they are describing their actions. As the single earphone only covers one ear, the other ear is still exposed allowing observers to still hear ambient noise; such as reversing vehicles. They are still able to partake in a discussion with other staff members whilst monitoring the trainee from low level even from a training tower.
