Tourtalk system for Welsh church

A church in South Wales recently purchased a Tourtalk TT 40-SI24M simultaneous interpretation system to translate their services from Welsh to English. They conduct their services in Welsh and they wanted a system that would enable non-Welsh speakers to hear and understand the preacher.

A member of the church listens to the Minister preaching and simultaneously translates the message into English. They whisper the translation into a lightweight headband microphone, connected to a body-pack transmitter. Members of the congregation that do not speak Welsh, are issued with a receiver with either a single earphone or headphones. Each person can then listen to the translation without disturbing people in the vicinity, enabling family and friends to sit anywhere.

The Tourtalk system is completely wireless and requires no installation. This enables the equipment to be quickly setup and packed away after each service. It can also be used for weekly meetings in different rooms of the church.
