Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) all organisations have to make changes to their procedures so that staff can still work safely and efficiently when spaced at least 2m apart due to social distancing. This has brought fresh challenges to the workplace as managing staff requires clear communication.
Tourtalk produce four different systems that can be used to communicate with people when social distancing. To assist you in choosing the most suitable version for your organisation please see the below examples of each system.
THE TOURTALK TT 40 SYSTEM
The Tourtalk TT 40 one-way system has forty channels and can support up to twelve separate groups within the same environment. The system enables one presenter to communicate to an audience with a transmission range of up to 120m.
This system is ideal for one person addressing each group. e.g. A tour guide taking visitors on a city tour. The tour guide uses a TT 40-T transmitter and the visitors are each issued with a TT 40-R receiver. The tourists can hear every word the tour guide says without having to be huddled in a group.
THE TOURTALK TT 100 SYSTEM
The digital Tourtalk TT 100 one-way system has one hundred channels and can support up to twenty separate groups within the same environment. The system enables up to two presenters to communicate to an audience with a transmission range of up to 30m.
This system is ideal for one or two people to address each group. e.g. Two language interpreters working together on the same language. Each interpreter is issued with a TT 100-T transmitter and they alternate the interpretation, by muting one transmitter at a time for long events. Alternatively, the second transmitter can be changed to a different channel to provide interpretation to another group. The delegates are each issued with a TT 100-R receiver.
THE TOURTALK TT 200 SYSTEM
The digital Tourtalk TT 200 two-way system has forty-two channels and can support up to fifteen separate groups within the same environment. This full-duplex system allows presenters and audience members to fully communicate with each other, with up to two live microphones at a time, and a range of up to 150m.
The Tourtalk TT 200 system has three different communication modes.
Guiding Mode
This system is ideal for when one person addresses the group for the majority of the time, but a member of the group may also need to participate. e.g. A salesperson can take a group of guests for a tour around a business premises. A guest can ask a question to the salesperson (and the group) when the salesperson allows. The salesperson uses a TT 200-T transmitter and guests are each issued with a TT 200-R receiver.
Teaching Mode
This system is ideal for two people to address each group for the majority of the time, but a member of the group may also need to participate. e.g. A teacher and teaching assistant speaking in a school classroom. A pupil can ask a question to the teacher, teaching assistant (and their classmates) when the assistant teacher releases their talking rights. The teacher and teaching assistant each use a TT 200-T transmitter and pupils are each issued with a TT 200-R receiver.
Discussion Mode
This system is ideal for when open discussion is required between people. e.g. A trainer needs to be in open discussion with a new employee when instructing them how to operate a piece of machinery. Each member of staff is issued with a TT 200-T transmitter.
THE TOURTALK TT 300 SYSTEM
The digital Tourtalk TT 300 two-way system also has forty-two channels and can support up to forty-two separate groups within the same environment. Any TT 300 transceiver can be setup as a Master, Sub-Master or Listen only unit. This full-duplex system allows the Master unit and Sub-Master units to fully communicate with each other, with up to six live microphones at a time, and a range of up to 100m. The Master unit can cancel the talking rights of the Sub-Master units at any time to control the proceedings. An encrypted group can be created for private discussions.
This system is ideal for when open discussion is required between a group of people. e.g. A management meeting is conducted on a noisy factory floor. Each member of staff is issued with a TT 300 transceiver.
There is no limit to the number of receivers used with a Tourtalk system. Please note. The TT 40, TT 100, TT 200 and TT 300 systems are not interchangeable.
