The Minack Theatre have purchased a Tourtalk audio description system after hiring a system earlier in the year.

The system was supplied with both a portable and a stationary transmitter for maximum flexibility.

The describer speaks into a headband microphone, connected to one of the transmitters.

The blind/partially sighted audience members are each issued with a wireless bodypack receiver with earphone, to hear the describer.

Minack.jpgAudio description systems are used to provide a live commentary of what is happening on the stage during the parts of the performance where there is no dialogue. This helps assist blind or partially sighted audience members by letting them know what is happening on the stage, making the performance more inclusive.
