Tourtalk audio description for Minack Theatre

The Minack Theatre have purchased a Tourtalk audio description system after hiring a system earlier in the year.

The system was supplied with both a portable and a stationary transmitter for maximum flexibility.

The describer speaks into a headband microphone, connected to one of the transmitters.

The blind/partially sighted audience members are each issued with a wireless bodypack receiver with earphone, to hear the describer.

Minack Theatre

Audio description systems are used to provide a live commentary of what is happening on the stage during the parts of the performance where there is no dialogue. This helps assist blind or partially sighted audience members by letting them know what is happening on the stage, making the performance more inclusive.

This world-famous theatre has a unique outdoor setting on the cliffs of Cornwall, perched above the Atlantic Ocean. The theatre has a full programme of drama, musicals and opera every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. For more information click here.
